I want to thank you for the information that you have been posting in the sci.med.nutrition news group. I must admit that at first I thought you to be a little fanatical about the subject of NutraSweet being bad for you. But trust me; I don’t feel that way now. My mother (70 this year) is diabetic and has been consuming NutraSweet for quite some time.
She enjoys her sugar-free Jell-O, gum, Swiss Miss hot chocolate, Equal on a bowl of cereal, and many other things. After reading the information by you (and xxxx) I approached my mom with the idea that she should stop using NutraSweet for two weeks and see how she felt. She was not happy to say the least. After some nice, convincing prodding (and her reading the information on the web) she decided to give it a try.
To make a long story short, after only two days of not consuming Aspartame she called to tell me that she had packed up everything in the house containing it and threw it in the trash. SHE FELT THAT SUCH BETTER! No more waking up in the middle of the night with burning, stiff neck muscles. She walks easier and with less limping (she has phlebitis)). I think that this is absolutely wonderful. I am very proud of her for biting the bullet and giving it a try. I know that it was very hard for her, and will continue to be until we get her something like Stevia.
Thank you so much for sticking to your beliefs in spite of the negative feedback being generated by your posts. You are saving people’s lives by sharing this information. And if this extends my mother’s life, even just a couple of days, then it is most surely worth it.
