Several winters ago my wife was having headaches, and she didn’t know what was causing them. Then we got a cold spell, and she stopped drinking iced tea – it’s popular down here even in the winter – but during this cold snap she switched to warm beverages – and the headaches suddenly stopped. She had been using an iced tea mix that contained Aspartame, and so she postulated that it was the Aspartame that caused the headaches – so she abandoned it, but was afraid to share her experience for fear of being ridiculed.
One Sunday morning that spring we were sort of listening to television – you have it on the channel that you had last listened to, but you’re not paying attention – until we heard them talking about Aspartame – and then we both listened to the show and learned how bad it could be.
Well, I am blessed with not having headaches, so I agreed with her staying away from it, but I kept on with my diet drinks. She had suggested that I try stopping them for a while. I’m hard headed, Nancy, but no so much so that I didn’t jump on your article to try to learn more. The URL suggested by Kathrynne Holden was particularly damning. To be fair, I’d like to see some defense, but I doubt that there could be much.
