NutraSweet makes me sick, my husband and daughter. It started with me.
Several years ago, I took two NutraSweet packets in several cups of coffee and had one pop a day. I noticed my eyes were always burning. I read a story in the tribune about two women who sued for blindness caused by it. I stopped taking it. The burning in my eyes went away.
I was afraid to have my daughter take it and wouldn’t let her drink pop with it in it. She stayed over at a friend’s house where a diabetic grandma lives and drank some of her NutraSweet pop. She was sick all night and half the next day with a horrible headache.
When my husband accidentally had a drink with NutraSweet in it — he believes in sugar — it made his head hurt, his nose run and his eyes burn.
I think this stuff is poison and i don’t care what the FDA says is safe. They’re acting more like a shill for corporations than a consumer protector. A friend of mine pulled a story off the net about a worker at the Searle plant dying from NutraSweet exposure. Apparently, all the workers have to wear space suits and this guy wasn’t careful. Kind of like the food additive version of who killed Karen Silkwood. She also pulled a story off about the woman who died in the ER and smelled so bad? It was from NutraSweet. The chemicals in NutraSweet tuned into methyl. Something that smells bad. Anyhow, I don’t use it and I tell people its poison, don’t use it.
