I’ve been a diabetic since I was 3. I’m 25 now. In that time, I’ve used saccharine heavily when it was all that was available, and initially used Aspartame heavily when it first came out. Honestly, I think saccharine was the healthier choice of the two :-/
I recently decided to try to go Aspartame-free. I haven’t had any in two months now, and have noticed that I get fewer headaches and my blood sugars don’t seem to swing around as much. I don’t know if it’s a placebo effect or for real, but it’s still a good enough reason for me.
