Aspartame has been implicated as one the probable aggravating factors in clinical depression in a number of people. When I was suffering that lovely affliction last year my doctor suggested that I avoid Aspartame absolutely. He said that in his experience he had found that almost 75% if his patients that were suffering from depression they were regular drinkers of Diet Coke or Diet Pepsi. It apparently affects the levels of serotonin in your brain.
