I have been Aspartame, caffeine, and sugar-free for about 75 days now.
When I went off these three items on April 30, my main complaints were: shaky handwriting and trembling hands; flickering lights in the outer field of vision and joint pain. These have disappeared almost completely.
I have not gone back to Aspartame at all, but I have begun to drink regular coffee without suffering any ill effects, except one day when I overdid the caffeine bit by having about six cups. Then the shaky handwriting and the flickering lights were back. While I am happy to be rid of most symptoms, I cannot really say that all of the good effects were solely due to quitting Aspartame. Thanks anyway for the information. Maybe we all consume too much caffeine, also. If that is true, then the coffee and soft drink industry will really be mad!
