I discovered a few years back that Aspartame gives me migraines. I am very careful about what I purchase and read all suspect labels. Aspartame shows up in the darndest places!
The other day I bought some Welch’s juice bars. They were labeled ‘No sugar added’. For some stupid reason, I did not search for the dreaded NutraSweet on the label. I thought that ‘no sugar added’ meant they were naturally sweet.
I ate one. Now I am on day 3 of an Aspartame headache. I threw the rest of the headache bars in the garbage.
I’m not sure how to contact Welch’s about this misleading label. I’m sure that an upstanding company like Welch’s would not knowingly mislead the public. 😮
I just read on your page that Aspartame can hurt the optic nerve. My mother has been using NutraSweet for 20 years and now she is almost blind. She has had glaucoma for all this time, but has been using eye drops and her pressure has been under control. Her eye doctor says that her blindness is caused by optic nerve damage due to the glaucoma. I’m sure NutraSweet hasn’t helped.
