I do not advocate consuming anything with Aspartame in it. A year ago I gave up diet drinks at the advice of a well-educated cousin, who warned about the harmful effects of Aspartame. I was having horrible abdominal pain and had multitudes of tests run to determine the cause (I’m sure it was gallbladder related, but that could never be proven.) When I followed her advice and got rid of every single product I ingested with Aspartame in it, my abdominal pain magically went away (although it took a few weeks.)
I also learned from her that as Aspartame is digested it turns into formaldehyde and other harmful chemicals. Since I don’t need preserving just yet, I stay away from the stuff.
